Adapt Psychiatry Welcomes Pallavi Kour

Tanvir Shagar, Executive Director

Aug 30, 2024

Adapt Psychiatry is delighted to welcome Pallavi Kour, FNP, PMHNP-BC, to our team as our very first Resident Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Pallavi joins us with a strong academic foundation and a commitment to delivering exceptional, evidence-based psychiatric care.

Pallavi completed both the family nurse practitioner as well as the psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner graduate training programs at D’Youville University. In addition to her graduate education, Pallavi holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Niagara University, where she graduated with honors in May 2018, and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences with a minor in Sociology from the University of Buffalo, completed in May 2014.

Pallavi's clinical experience is extensive and varied, including roles in inpatient mental health units, outpatient psychiatry, and medical-surgical units. Her experience equips her with the skills necessary to manage complex psychiatric cases, with a focus on comprehensive patient-centered care.

As the first Resident Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner at Adapt Psychiatry, Pallavi will engage in a rigorous residency program that bridges the gap between her recent academic training and the practical, real-world application of psychiatric care. This residency will involve direct clinical practice under the guidance of experienced professionals, including Dr. Peter Margulis, a board-certified psychiatrist and addiction medicine specialist. The program also includes off-service clinical experiences in primary care and mental health counseling. The residency curriculum will provide her with training and exposure in various therapeutic modalities in addition to proficiency in managing mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and more.

The goal of Adapt's residency program is to develop Nurse Practitioners who are not only proficient in delivering high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care but also capable of becoming leaders in the field. The program is designed to equip our residents with the necessary clinical expertise, therapeutic skills, and confidence to manage complex psychiatric cases, ensuring they are well-prepared to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care in the outpatient psychiatric setting.

We invite our community to join us in welcoming Pallavi Kour to the Adapt Psychiatry family. Her addition to our team underscores our commitment to enhancing the quality of mental health care we provide and to nurturing the next generation of psychiatric care providers.

For more information about Pallavi Kour or to schedule an appointment, please visit our website or contact us directly at 716-929-6888. Providers interested in referring patients for psychiatric services may do so through our referral page.
